Day 92: I've been doing nothing but character design portfolio work for the past week or so, so I wanted to just to a quick portrait study for fun. Normally I wouldn't construct a drawing this way, but I'm not very confident with perspective, so I was hoping maybe doing this would make me maybe slightly better.
Day 90: So, I got an e-mail suggesting that I might have gotten a table at CTNX the day before yesterday! Unfortunately, that meant I'd only have about a day to make my entry for the sketchbook! This is what I submitted minus a few hours of work and with some text. It's related to the story I'm developing for my portfolio!
Haven't posted any sketchbook pages in a while have I? Lets change that!
The first two pages were made because I wanted to better understand some things I'm gonna need to draw in an upcoming project. The last just exists because Abe Sapien is ridiculously fun to draw.
Day 88: I worked way too long on this study going back and forth with it. Working on and off on it. I’ve gotten way too backed up with my work schedule because I’ve been procrastinating on working on this thing. Anyways, I’m sick of working on it. I think I’ve learned just about everything I can from it anyways. Next time I do an armor study like this I’m going to have to make sure to use better reference…
I got a really great new nib for my croquill, so I decided to do some quick pen and ink studies for fun. I haven't worked with pen and ink in forever, so it was really enjoyable to go back to it! It makes me wonder why I don't work at it more...
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have a bunch of stuff sitting around just waiting to be finished but... For some reason I'm having trouble finishing them...
In the meantime, have a doodle of Blathers. I miss his blathering from the past games. Animal Crossing: New Leaf just doesn't feel right without it...
Day 83: This picture was on my USB drive and I thought I'd do a study of it... I wish it would've had more interesting lighting, but it's nice to practice being subtle every once in a while too... Even if I'm not great at it... Also tried a new brush with this. It was interesting to test out but it takes a bit too long to build up and smooth things out with it in my opinion. I probably won't be using it again.
I've had this photo on my desktop for a few months now and I've been meaning to do a study based off it. Since I'm currently procrastinating from oil painting, I thought it was as good a time as ever... I wish I could have spent more time on it though...
