Day 92: Perspective in portraits study

Day 92:
I've been doing nothing but character design portfolio work for the past week or so, so I wanted to just to a quick portrait study for fun.

Normally I wouldn't construct a drawing this way, but I'm not very confident with perspective, so I was hoping maybe doing this would make me maybe slightly better.

Day 91: Portrait study

Day 91:
I found some pretty interesting fine art brushes and decided to do a study with them. I think I like 'em!

Day 90: Knocked Out In The Deep

Day 90:
So, I got an e-mail suggesting that I might have gotten a table at CTNX the day before yesterday! Unfortunately, that meant I'd only have about a day to make my entry for the sketchbook! This is what I submitted minus a few hours of work and with some text. It's related to the story I'm developing for my portfolio!

Day 89: Giant Salamanders, Deep-sea sketches and Abe Sapien

Day 89:

Haven't posted any sketchbook pages in a while have I? Lets change that!

The first two pages were made because I wanted to better understand some things I'm gonna need to draw in an upcoming project. The last just exists because Abe Sapien is ridiculously fun to draw.

Day 88: Armor Study

Day 88:
I worked way too long on this study going back and forth with it. Working on and off on it. I’ve gotten way too backed up with my work schedule because I’ve been procrastinating on working on this thing. Anyways, I’m sick of working on it. I think I’ve learned just about everything I can from it anyways. Next time I do an armor study like this I’m going to have to make sure to use better reference…

Day 87: Don't Stop Me Now

Day 87:
"..I'm a shooting star leaping through the skies. Like a Tiger defying the laws of gravity..."

I've been listening to  "Don't Stop Me Now" for like eight hours today... I don't know why or how it happened, but I'm not complaining...

Day 86: Pen and Ink Dorbermans and Jackals

Day 86:
I got a really great new nib for my croquill, so I decided to do some quick pen and ink studies for fun. I haven't worked with pen and ink in forever, so it was really enjoyable to go back to it! It makes me wonder why I don't work at it more...

Day 85: Pachisefeloostrich

Day 85:

In a bit of a rut now that I’ve graduated art school. Here’s an attempt to try and work through it.

... I'm a bit rusty...

Day 84: Blathers

Day 84:
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have a bunch of stuff sitting around just waiting to be finished but... For some reason I'm having trouble finishing them...

In the meantime, have a doodle of Blathers. I miss his blathering from the past games. Animal Crossing: New Leaf just doesn't feel right without it...

Day 83: Redhead study

Day 83:
This picture was on my USB drive and I thought I'd do a study of it... I wish it would've had more interesting lighting, but it's nice to practice being subtle every once in a while too... Even if I'm not great at it... Also tried a new brush with this. It was interesting to test out but it takes a bit too long to build up and smooth things out with it in my opinion. I probably won't be using it again.

Day 82: Portrait Study

Day 82:
I've had this photo on my desktop for a few months now and I've been meaning to do a study based off it. Since I'm currently procrastinating from oil painting, I thought it was as good a time as ever... I wish I could have spent more time on it though...

Also tried out a new brush with this!

Day 81: Albino Crocodile study

Day 81:

Digital study for an oil painting I’m making. Albinos are kind of hard to paint…

It’s still pretty rough, but I’ve spent too much time on this anyway since I’m never gonna really actually use it for much
