Day 83: Redhead study

Day 83:
This picture was on my USB drive and I thought I'd do a study of it... I wish it would've had more interesting lighting, but it's nice to practice being subtle every once in a while too... Even if I'm not great at it... Also tried a new brush with this. It was interesting to test out but it takes a bit too long to build up and smooth things out with it in my opinion. I probably won't be using it again.

Day 82: Portrait Study

Day 82:

I've had this photo on my desktop for a few months now and I've been meaning to do a study based off it. Since I'm currently procrastinating from oil painting, I thought it was as good a time as ever... I wish I could have spent more time on it though...

Also tried out a new brush with this!

Day 81: Albino Crocodile study

Digital study for an oil painting I’m making. Albinos are kind of hard to paint…

It’s still pretty rough, but I’ve spent too much time on this anyway since I’m never gonna really actually use it for much…

Day 80: Poaching

Been tweaking this one for a little while. It's about poaching, just in case you're wondering.

I wanted to take a more flat approach with this since I got a little tired of only doing digital paintings all the time.

Quick study of one of my favorite things ever: Bears. I mostly made it to help cheer myself up.

I should probably finish this, but I’d rather do more studies.

Based off of Sergei Gladyshev’s photo “The Protector” (at least, that’s what I think it’s called.)

Day 75: Preaching Mantis

Something I made this Semester.

It uhh… Didn’t go over too well in critique. I’ll go back and work on it more someday… Someday…

If I had been smart I would've done the study I uploaded yesterday BEFORE I painted this... Lesson learned, I guess...

Day 74: Mantis study and digital life drawing

Day 74: 

Man, I feel terrible that I haven't updated this place in so long. My logic has been that I should only upload stuff onto here that I'd show to potential employers, but then I realized that that's stupid since I should probably make either a blog or a website JUST for my portfolio anyways.

So, to get back on track, here’s a mantis study and a digital painting I made from life. They took 1 hr and 30 mins respectively.
